Empowering you to shine
My goal is to help you achieve optimum health and wellbeing, that is a state of balance and wholeness. I aim to not only treat, but to also educate on how lifestyle patterns and choices influence your health so you can be empowered and supported to heal. Depending on your individual needs, I offer traditional, scalp, and orthopaedic acu-treatment techniques in combination with other Chinese medicine modalities such as tui-na bodywork, cupping, moxa, gua-sha and nutritional therapy.
I completed my training in Chinese Medicine at Pacific Rim College in Victoria and am registered in good standing with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners of BC. In addition, I studied at Academy of Classical Oriental Sciences in Nelson, BC and spent my first year in practice serving rural communities in Nepal with Acupuncture Relief Project. While in Nepal, I provided over 1000 patient treatments focusing on primary care, management of chronic disease, and orthopaedic acupuncture for an array of injuries, aches and pains. Back on Vancouver Island, I joined a very busy clinic and worked along side a senior practitioner before beginning my own practice.
I have been exploring yoga, meditation, qi gong, herbal medicine and holistic nutrition (basically all things holistic!) formally and informally since my teens. When I was 18, I began practicing a traditional lineage of qi gong under a master who was also a 23rd generation Doctor of Chinese Medicine. This opened my eyes to the beauty and potency of the Chinese Medicine philosophy and its Daoist roots that seek to keep the internal systems of the body harmonized with each other, the individual harmonized with their community and environment, and humans harmonized with nature. Only through harmony can we shine in health.
Prior to working with Chinese Medicine, I completed a B.A. in Women and Gender Studies from the University of Colorado at Boulder. I love to mountain bike, hike and soak up as much of the incredible Vancouver Island nature as I can whenever I am back home.

Ancient Wisdom, with a Modern Professional Approach
The process of Chinese medicine involves balancing the organ energy systems of the body. Because we address patterns of disharmony at their root, acupuncture can resolve symptoms before they turn into disease and can treat or manage almost any condition that is non-emergent. In addition, we examine lifestyle, dietary, relational and environmental factors that could be inhibiting your wellbeing.
If too many things are crossing your barriers and boundaries, acupuncture can help sharpen your defenses.
Good digestion is the foundation of health. IBS, Crohns, heart burn and other digestive issues can often be balanced and resolved.
Fatigue & Stress
Good energy reflects good health. If you're dragging yourself through your day, there are likely some imbalances that we can address to give you a boost.
Anxiety and Depression
Are emotional imbalances keeping you from thriving? Acupuncture can access the emotions via the body giving you more inner freedom.
Whether it be acne, period issues, infertility, hot flashes, thyroid issues or other hormonal imbalances, Chinese Medicine is excellent for supporting women at every stage of life by balancing the underlying roots of disharmony.
Pain & Injury
Acupuncture is highly effective at reducing pain related to various causes and systems including musculoskeletal, gastrointestinal or headache.
Acupuncture with food therapy offers a holistic approach that is safe and supportive to your entire being.
